I started Sunday Loon because I was searching for purpose. I was/am working a very corporate job that provided close to zero meaning in my life. I was simply punching the clock for 40 hours a week.

Prior to going corporate, I was a baseball coach for 7 years. In that time, I don’t think I ever had a truly bad day. There were challenging days and days of bliss, but I always felt like I had a purpose. This change in career path, strictly for monetary reasons, left me with a giant hole in who I was as a human being and as a man. I struggled for over a year before I had an epiphany, you have to find a new purpose, and it was never going to be climbing the corporate ladder.

I always had hobbies that brought me joy, so I started there when looking for purpose and meaning. Golf didn’t quite scratch the itch. I love golf, but I was never going to have a career in golf. I love hunting, but it failed for the same reason, a weekend here and there doesn’t bring overall meaning to your life. Fishing, hiking, building things in my garage, my search kept failing for the same reason. You can’t just have meaning in your life 2 days a week. Then the next epiphany hit me, maybe the search is the answer.

Sunday Loon is about the search. It’s about bringing men together that are struggling to find purpose in 2025 and beyond. Maybe some day this platform will bring me enough money to be able to live the life I want to be living 7 days a week, but until then it’s about sharing the journey toward a purpose driven life. The Sunday Loon represents a Sunday in the future when I can sip coffee on my dock and watch a loon swim by with no fear of the Monday to come. A Sunday without the scaries, that's what we're searching for.
