Sunday Loon Preamble

I started Sunday Loon because I was searching for purpose. I was working a very corporate job that provided close to zero meaning in my life. I was simply punching the clock for 40 hours a week.

A Journey from Coaching to Corporate

Before diving into the corporate world, I spent seven fulfilling years as a baseball coach. During that time, I never really had a bad day. Sure, there were challenges, but there were also moments of pure bliss. I always felt like I had a purpose.

However, when I switched careers strictly for monetary reasons, I felt a giant hole in who I was as a human being and as a man. It was tough. I struggled for over a year, feeling lost and disconnected. Then, I had an epiphany: I needed to find a new purpose, and it was clear that climbing the corporate ladder wasn’t it.

Rediscovering Joy in Hobbies

I’ve always had hobbies that brought me joy, so I decided to start there in my quest for meaning. Golf was one of those hobbies. I love golf, but I realized I wasn’t going to have a career in it. Hunting was another passion, but it fell short for the same reason. A weekend here and there just didn’t provide the overall meaning I craved.

Fishing, hiking, and even building things in my garage all seemed to lead me back to the same conclusion: you can’t just find meaning in your life two days a week. That’s when another epiphany hit me: maybe the search itself is the answer.

The Search for Purpose

Sunday Loon is all about that search. It’s about bringing men together who are struggling to find purpose in 2025 and beyond. I hope that one day this platform will generate enough income for me to live the life I want, seven days a week. But for now, it’s about sharing the journey toward a purpose-driven life.

The Sunday Loon symbolizes a future Sunday when I can sip coffee on my dock and watch a loon swim by, free from the fear of Monday looming ahead. A Sunday without the scaries—that's what we're searching for.

Building a Supportive Community
